What this site does not do
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising. It loads nothing from third parties: fonts, styles, scripts and images are all served from knng.de. There are no forms, comments or user accounts.
Hosting and delivery
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data that Cloudflare has to process to deliver the page and to protect the site against attacks and abuse: your IP address, date and time of the request, the requested address, the browser and operating system (user agent), the referring page and connection details.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is delivering this site reliably and securely.
Cloudflare processes this data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be processed in the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Details are in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Contacting me by email
If you email me, I process your email address, the content of your message and the metadata your email carries, to read and answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in answering messages. Emails to this domain are received and stored by Apple's iCloud Mail service (Apple Distribution International Limited, Ireland). I delete emails once they are no longer needed for the conversation.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, for example GitHub. Nothing is sent to them until you follow a link. When you do, your browser only tells them that you came from knng.de, and their own privacy policies apply.
Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17) and restriction of processing (Art. 18). You can object at any time to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21). To exercise any of these rights, contact me at the address above.
The right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) does not apply here. It only covers data processed on the basis of consent or a contract, and everything on this site is processed on the basis of legitimate interest.
I can only find data that I can link to you. For emails, that is the address you wrote from. Connection data processed by Cloudflare can only be linked to you if you tell me your IP address and the approximate time of your visit (Art. 11 GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Postfach 20 04 44, 40102 Düsseldorf, ldi.nrw.de.
